Home » Support to quit smoking in north east Essex

If you live in north east Essex and would like to quit smoking, Essex Lifestyle Service can help. Their free programme offers a combination of prescribed medication and support from a professional health coach.

What does the programme include?

Medication may include Champix, which can help to reduce craving and relieve withdrawal symptoms. You may also be prescribed nicotine replacement therapy. The service can provide prescriptions for up to 12 weeks.

Your health coach will help keep you motivated and offer advice to support behaviour change that will last. You can either meet your health coach face-to-face in a community venue that's convenient for you. Sessions are available Monday - Saturday during the daytime and evenings. Or, if you'd prefer, your coach can contact you via telephone, text or email - or a combination of all three.

How do I sign up?

Will vaping or using e-cigarettes help me quit smoking?

These products are not yet regulated or licenced as medications therefore we cannot recommend their use. However, Public Health England released an independent review that concluded e-cigs are at best estimate around 95% less harmful than conventional cigarettes.

Essex Lifestyle Service works with two Vape stores in north east Essex. If you'd like to quit smoking whilst using an e-cigarette with the support of a trained smoking cessation advisor, please visit one of these stores for further support.
