Common childhood illnesses can be treated with over-the-counter remedies or using basic first aid supplies. It's often tricky, as parents and carers, to know what help to get and when. The Childhood Illnesses Visual Guide can help you spot the signs of common childhood illnesses; some basic advice and how to get treatment when necessary. If you are unsure about where to get help, please contact your local pharmacy or NHS111.

Read our illustrated children's book, What's Bugging Johnny?

The book provides a fun way to teach your child about germs. Including the things everyone can do to avoid catching and spreading bugs.

At the end of the story, there's also some simple advice for parents on how to prevent diarrhoea and vomiting in under-5s. There are also some easy-to-follow guidelines on how to treat tummy bugs, and who to turn to if you're worried about your child's health.
