If you have an urgent medical problem that’s not life-threatening, or you’re not sure what to do, just call NHS 111 first, or visit www.111.nhs.uk.
The NHS 111 team will direct you to the service that best meets your needs. If that’s a visit to the emergency department at your local hospital, they can book you a time slot when you’ll be seen.
This means you could avoid a lengthy wait in the waiting room, and help us keep our patients and staff safe, too.
The NHS 111 service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including bank holidays. You can access the service by calling 111 from a telephone or visiting www.111.nhs.uk via a smartphone, tablet or computer.
If you’ve run out of your prescribed medicines, answer these few questions and the 111 service will provide advice on how to get an emergency prescription.
If you work with community or patient groups in Colchester or Tendring, you could help us spread the word. Below is a list of resources in various formats. Please note, some may not be accessible for people viewing online, and are for the purposes of printing for physical display only.
